The pond camera AP-W2036 with a resolution of 2 megapixels (Full HD) is perfect for monitoring and controlling Kois. With the underwater shots, you are live and close to the animals, which can be used in addition to conduct illnesses and injuries. Especially parasitic diseases are often recognized too late: With the pond camera, you can observe the koi at any time and take action early enough.

The ideal place for the pond camera

In order to see the kois constantly and close enough, the area near the feeding site offers itself. The camera has a lens with a focal length of 3.6mm, which corresponds to a viewing angle of about 80 °. This is usually enough to get an overview of the entire pond.

All underwater cameras in our online surveillance camera shop are focused at a distance of 2 meters. So also many details of Kois, who are swimming close to the camera, can be seen very well.

The place of the pond camera can thus be chosen flexibly. Please make sure that the pond camera does not look directly into a pond lighting: The electronics would shut down immediately, so that the surrounding areas would be displayed too dark.

It is also advisable to position the pond camera so that it detects reference objects in the observation area that are not too far away. This makes watching even more fun.

Observation also possible at night

Built-in IR LEDs ensure good visibility even in absolute darkness! Since the infrared LEDs are above the color spectrum, the videos are black and white. The quality of the recordings depends heavily on the quality of the water. If in doubt, an underwater spotlight should be used.

Simple setup and operation

Thanks to the POE technology, the pond camera is operated via 1 network cable, which supplies the camera with power and transmits the data from the pond camera.

The quality of the network cable can be described as excellent, because it is resistant to aging, hydrolysis resistant and non-stretchable and thus performs its work over many years.

Observation of Kois on mobile and tablet

With the app "XMEye", which can be downloaded for free in the Apple Store (for iOS) and in the Playstore (for Android), the live videos can be displayed on any mobile phone and tablet, regardless of which network! So you can retrieve the videos of the pond camera from afar, from anywhere in the world. Likewise, the camera video can be viewed on the Microsoft IE browser. Thanks to the ONVIF protocol, the integration of the underwater camera into existing video systems works flawlessly.

WiFi option

The pond camera W2036 is an IP camera with network connection. It is not a wireless camera!

WLAN option for underwater cameras

To transfer the video data via WLAN, the following possibility exists: The connection box of the pond camera is connected to the LAN output of a WLAN repeater, for example AVM Fritz Repeater 450E.

The WLAN Repeater in turn connects to the WLAN router of your home network.

Thus, distances of up to 40 meters can be bridged.

It is important to ensure that the pond camera is not operated in seawater and not in chlorinated swimming pools, so is not exposed to a constantly high salt content, since the corrosion resistance suffers.

NOTE: Due to material processing of stainless steel and aluminum, minor scratches may be seen on the top of the housings. This is normal and seen on all new cameras. The power adapter is included!
