304 stainless steel (1.4301 -V2A) is a material with high corrosion protection, but not reliable in connection with chlorides (salt water, de-icing salt, chlorine)  
                     
316L stainless steel (1.4404 - V4A) is the material that can officially be called rustproof, with considerably better corrosion protection, especially when used in salt water
