Veracity's coaxial converter VHW-HW-C Koax-IP converter (camera unit) is mounted on the side of the IP camera and is used to convert the data connection or video connection from coaxial cable back to Ethernet cable, with PoE function.
Thus, the existing coaxial cable can be used and it is no time consuming recabling necessary. Easy installation as no device configuration is necessary.
Through the PoE voltage transmission via the base unit via the coaxial cable, both the converter camera unit and the PoE terminal are supplied with voltage.
The connected PoE-capable IP camera then no longer needs to be powered locally. The electrical power (watts) that can be transmitted by the PoE function depends on the type of power supply of the base unit (PoE / PoE + Switch) or external 57V power supply unit and the length of the transmission path (maximum up to 300 meters).
For more information about maximum power transfer and additional Veracity products, see the data sheet in the Guides section.
Note:
To operate a transmission link, the basic unit VHW-HWPS-B is required in addition to the converter unit VHW-HWPS-C.
