Why POE switch?
In addition to data transmission, IP cameras and access points and IP telephones require the power supply to operate the device. Especially with IP cameras outside, there is not always a socket nearby. For this purpose, the POE technology has prevailed: The power supply via the network cable!
For this purpose, POE-capable IP cameras (we are already working 90% with POE-capable IP cameras) are connected to a so-called POE switch. This combines the supply voltage with the video data and sends it to the camera via the POE output of the POE switch.
Which cameras can I connect?
Those that are POE compatible and consume up to 15 watts. With our 4-channel versions POE Switch 4 Port, a power requirement of up to 30 watts per camera is also possible. This is necessary for PTZ cameras and pan-tilt cameras.
